Garden of Eden

Garden of Eden · Traditionally placed near the confluence of the Tigris and Euphrates in southern Iraq (exact site unknown)
Where Jehovah God formed Adam and Eve and placed them to dwell—the starting point of human history.
First mentioned in the Bible
And Jehovah God went on to form the man out of dust from the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living person. Further, Jehovah God planted a garden in Eʹden, toward the east; and there he put the man whom he had formed.— Genesis 2:7-8
Background
The Garden of Eden was humanity's first home as recorded in Scripture. Jehovah God formed man of the dust of the ground, breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and planted a garden eastward in Eden, where He put the man He had formed. Genesis 2:10-14 names four rivers flowing from Eden: Pison, Gihon, Hiddekel (Tigris), and Euphrates. Since the latter two run through Mesopotamia, tradition places Eden near the river junction in southern Iraq, though its exact location remains unknown—the marker here is only indicative. After the fall, Adam and Eve were driven out, and Jehovah God placed cherubims and a flaming sword at the east of the garden to keep the way of the tree of life.
Related Scriptures (New World Translation)
And Jehovah God went on to form the man out of dust from the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living person. Further, Jehovah God planted a garden in Eʹden, toward the east; and there he put the man whom he had formed.— Genesis 2:7-8
With that Jehovah God expelled him from the garden of Eʹden to cultivate the ground from which he had been taken. So he drove the man out, and he posted at the east of the garden of Eʹden the cherubs and the flaming blade of a sword that was turning continuously to guard the way to the tree of life.— Genesis 3:23-24
