Land of Nod

Land of Nod · Location unknown (Insight on the Scriptures: land of Fugitiveness, east of Eden)
Where Cain wandered after he was judged for killing his brother, east of Eden; the Hebrew Nod means ‘Fugitiveness,’ and its exact location is unknown.
First mentioned in the Bible
"The ground has opened its mouth to take your brother's blood from your hand. When you cultivate the ground, it will no longer give its strength to you. You will be a fugitive and a wanderer on the earth." ... Cain went away from before Jehovah and took up dwelling in the land of Nod, east of Eden.— Genesis 4:11-12, 16
Background
After Cain murdered his brother Abel in the field and was judged by Jehovah God, he “went away from the face of Jehovah and took up residence in the land of Fugitiveness, to the east of Eden” (Genesis 4:16). The Hebrew nohdh (Nod) means “fugitiveness,” from the verb root nudh; a form of this root is rendered “fugitive” or “wanderer” in Genesis 4:12 and 14. The land of Nod was thus the place where Cain wandered as a fugitive. Insight on the Scriptures lists this entry as “Fugitiveness (Land of)” and notes that its exact location is unknown.
Related Scriptures (New World Translation)
And now you are cursed in banishment from the ground that has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. When you cultivate the ground, it will not give you back its produce. You will become a wanderer and a fugitive in the earth.” Then Cain went away from before Jehovah and took up residence in the land of Exile, to the east of Eʹden.— Genesis 4:11-12, 16
