Gomorrah

Gomorrah · Traditionally placed near the southeast shore of the southern Dead Sea (exact site unknown)
One of the five cities of the Jordan Valley, destroyed by Jehovah God with sulfur and fire because of its wickedness, together with Sodom.
First mentioned in the Bible
Then Jehovah made it rain sulfur and fire on Sodʹom and Go·morʹrah—it came from Jehovah, from the heavens. So he overthrew these cities, yes, the entire district, including all the inhabitants of the cities and the plants of the ground.— Genesis 19:24-25
Background
Gomorrah was one of the five cities of the Jordan Valley, famous alongside Sodom for its extreme wickedness. While Lot was dwelling in Sodom, a war broke out between four kings and five kings, and Gomorrah was one of the five cities that fought. Later, because of the grievous sins of these cities, Jehovah rained down sulfur and fire from the heavens and completely destroyed Gomorrah along with Sodom — all the inhabitants of the plain, the vegetation, and even the soil were burned up (Genesis 19:24-25). Lot and his two daughters escaped at the urging of the angels, but his wife, because she looked back from behind him, became a pillar of salt. In the Christian Greek Scriptures, Jude verse 7 also cites Sodom and Gomorrah as an example undergoing the judicial punishment of everlasting fire.
