Background
Bethlehem Ephrathah was a small town in Judah with extraordinary significance. Ruth and Boaz married here, David was born and anointed here. The prophet Micah prophesied that the eternal ruler would come from here. Jesus was born here in fulfillment of the prophecy at Micah 5:2.
