Background
Har-Magedon (Hebrew for 'Mountain of Megiddo') appears in Revelation 16:16, referring to the war of the great day of Jehovah God the Almighty. It is not a literal geographic location but symbolically represents Jehovah's final judgment against the nations. The plain of Megiddo was historically the site of many decisive battles, making it a symbol of Jehovah's ultimate victory. Deborah and Barak defeated the Canaanite army here, and King Josiah also died here.
