Background
Mount Tabor is a dome-shaped hill northeast of the Jezreel Valley. Deborah commanded Barak to gather ten thousand men here and defeated Sisera's iron chariots. Christian tradition identifies this as the Transfiguration site where Jesus' face shone like the sun and Moses and Elijah appeared.
