Background
Sidon was founded by Canaan's firstborn son. Queen Jezebel was the daughter of Sidon's king and introduced Baal worship. During the drought, Elijah stayed with a widow at Zarephath of Sidon where flour and oil did not run out. Paul visited friends when docking at Sidon en route to Rome.
